Hi Everyone

What a wonderful site! A few questions I hope you can help me with. I flew to Vegas in October on a 747 in economy and have to say I was a little underwhelmed. The plane seemed really old, the entertainment system was quite out of date. It didnt quite live up to those brilliant Virgin adverts on TV at the momennt...

But I do like the brand and assumed they flew these planes on the "Vegas Party" route?

Anyway, I am going back to Vegas, flying out on Monday 7th March and back on Sunday 13th March. This time I have booked premium economy which I believe is upstairs in the "bubble". I've now read a few horror stories that this is not really worth the money?

So my question, is PE in a LGW 747 worth it, any tips, best seats, and a view on why these planes seem so old compared to the lovely pictures on the VA website?

Thanks all...

Nick

IMO the bubble is THE place to be and well worth it. a lot of people including me like 80hk right at the back as its quiet and you can be first off. the trade off is you sometimes miss out on your first choice of food. however anyhwere in the bubble is definitely better than downstairs so iw ould suggest reserving a seat asap

Welcome to V-flyer!

I agree that the "bubble" is a good place to be - it is very spacious and private area. Yes, the aircraft out of LGW do not offer the latest PE product (new seats etc)unless you are lucky to be on a LHR aircraft and two are currently based at LGW.

I have sat in different seats in the bubble and never had a bad experience.

Enjoy

Hi Nick, welcome to the forum.

Having been lucky to have done the Vegas route 5 or 6 times in PE I'd definitely recommend it - you are less likley to get a roudy lot of passengers in PE for a start! I'd go for the bubble for all the reasons previously stated. I'd go for 79AC, these are great seats with an extra side table, no one behind you, and slightly further from the galley than 80 HK (also good but noise from the galley could be annoying).

Make sure you get plenty of booze refills to get your PE value and have a great trip!! (don't forget the trip report!)
