It was said, in black and white, but the post has been deleted. However I still have a copy which I am seriously thinking of sending off to SRB to illicit a clear understanding of what the official position is. This is one thing I do take very seriously - service is service and we must let it erode further (well that's my 2c for what its worth)

I don't think it needs to go this far!

I really appreciate the comments from VS staff on here and hope they do continue to post! I'm sure it's frustrating for them too .

Clearly CC are not responsible for setting the stock levels on board.

From what I've read, the OP may or may not have champagne half way through the flight when the clock strikes midnight, it depends how much this particular set of passengers decide to drink! If the OP wants to guarantee champagne, the advice is to pre order.

Don't apologise, there is no need. This is a running thread over several years, and your question is not the first on such a theme.

For a special occassion it's nice to be presented with a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket and a plate of choccies than just have a couple of glasses, which is why we offer this pre-order service.

Didn't want to drop any staffers in it, the advice given was in good faith for a special flight and a fall back for the worst scenario y).The person who needs a rocket is the VS bean counter who isn't loading the required amount of Fizz.

No fizz on a VS 2005 new years eve flight LAX-LHR was the final straw for us switching to BA. BA have had our money for the 300k+ miles in J and F ever since. There are a lot of things wrong with BA but running out of Champagne isn't one.
