refund on return portion?

I have a W class flight from JFK-LHR remaining as part of a return journey I began just after new year. Can I get this refunded even if I have begun the journey, ie used the outbound already? If so will I get exactly half of the original paid fare?

Let us know how you get on with that - reading the T&C there "the refund will be not less than the difference between the fare paid and the applicable fare for travel between the points for which the Ticket has been used" could lead one to assume that:

- fare paid = your ticket
- applicable far between the points for which the ticket has been used = one way fare JFK-LHR ... and there's the rub, isn't a one way fare the same as a return?

Or did I get that wrong ?| .

Yes, thanks slinky, that may be the one killer T&C I read. This puts a minimum of prob a few hundred pounds on it. I'll let you know how I get on. Bit cheeky of the airlines because its an interesting take on 'fully refundable'. I initially thought I'd get a £1k since the ticket cost me about £2300 initially.

I've often wondered why singles aren't 1/2 the cost. On trains as well. Other countries I've travelled in a single is, shocking this may sound to us Brits, half the cost of a return. With airlines, maybe they don't want you to think of choosing another carrier for the return so they can lock you in.....

Singles ARE half the cost of a fully flexible return normally.

Ah, thank you. Yes you're right. I had never searched for one-way fully flexible fares until now. Would have been the easiest way to check I suppose! Thanks!
