Hi

I have two Ec-->PE upgrade vouchers from AMEX. Can I give these to other people or do I need to fly to claim them?

Also can they be claimed against flights arranged via Virgin Holidays?

The reason I ask is that a friend is going on honeymoon and I thought they would enjoy the upgrade.

Just make sure you are aware, that the upgrade vouchers I assume on the VS card, are for seats bought with Miles..

i.e. if you've bought a Y seat with Miles
If there is a reward seat in PE
Then you can use your voucher to "upgrade it"
Plus the associated Taxes/Surcharges/taxes/surcharges/fees/taxes/surcharges etc..

If you've bought a flight through VH, it won't be a miles seat?

There maybe an option to upgrade a seat bought with your miles, but would need others to confirm if this is possible..

The T&C are fairly clear.

They state .....enables you to convert an Economy reward redemption (an Economy flight bought with your Flying Club miles) into a Premium Economy reward redemption on Virgin Atlantic.

I read this as, you can book a reward for a third person with your points and then use the voucher to upgrade them - subject to the usual availability issues.

You won't be able to upgrade your friend's honeymoon flights, for two reasons. Firstly, as NH points out, you haven't booked the flights using your points, and secondly flights booked with VH are not upgradable with points anyway.

In summary, you can't just give your certificates away, but you can spread the love by using your points for someone else. :D 8D
