Is it possible to determine which Aircraft we will get?

Hi all again thanks to everyone for all the help so far!!

The which aircraft section on this site is great but nearer the time is there a way of determining the actuall aircraft we will have for the flight? and if so how long before the flight would this info be available. I am asking as if we have the NOVA system I may well invest in a portable DVD player for the kids as it does seem to be rather shallow on the content front.

It will only be a few hours at best before hand when that information is released. The status updates page will be the first and only place that the information is given before the flight departs.

The info isn't released sooner due to security and operation reasons.

Thanks Neil, I suppose that still leaves scope to pick something up from the Duty free if it ends up being Nova:) will pack a few DVD's just in case.

If you look on the Manage my Booking page on the VS website and go into the seat map you should see a small economy cabin directly behind the PE seats downstairs. If there are 4 rows in this cabin then the IFE will be Odyssey, if there are 3 then it will be Nova.

Having said that, VS may switch the aircraft for operational reasons so there is no guarantee that this will be the case on the day and as Neil says, it will only be a few hours beforehand when you will have some clearer idea as to which aircraft is scheduled for your flight. The reality is though that you can never be really sure until the plane is in flight

Great info Honey Lamb will go and check that now - appreciate it may change but will give some idea at least.

If you check the 'schedules' in the toolbox for your flights you might be able to work out a pattern but thats the best you will be able to do as, as others have said there could be a last minute change due to plane going tech or a switch due to the load.

Oh no - using that info it looks like my trip on VS49 in October is most likely to have Nova (again!).

Having said that, I wouldn't have been too excited by Odyssey anyway.
