Hi, I was wondering if people could post their feelings and reviews about virgin premium economy. I know that there are trip reports but I am looking for more detailed information about the cabin.

What extra info are you actually after?

I think that people do post their feelings and their reviews of the cabin and services.

Don't forget none of us are professional travel reviewers and we can only give our own impressions and as someone who does write TRs I think we generally do a very good job indeed.

Hi,

I last flew in PE in October last year (MIA to LHR) on an A340-600 in the new style purple leather chairs.

I really felt it was worth paying the extra for. The seats themselves were very comfortable with adequate leg room for ( 6 ft).

The seperate cabin is nice with own toilets, different food menu and dedicated crew.

Thats a basic review - happy to give whatever info you need.

This is exactly what I am looking for thanks luke!

I am not putting the TRs down at all and I think they are billiant.

The only reason for starting this topic is that I want a separate place where I can find easily different peoples views about PE

You probably need to tell us what flights you are planning because the lhr cabin varies dramatically to the lgw/man premium cabins

Am sorry but why should there be an additonal section? What is actually wrong with the TRs.

There is an easy way to find opinions and that is to read a range of TRs for your flight or those to a similar destination.

To have an additonal section means people have to contribute to it and I think it unlikely that people will do so.

No disrespct to Luke and his 'review' but I found that to be less than enlightening as it didn't tell me anything about the food, IFE or how the crew were or what the seat was like - was it the leather or cloth seat for example?

Again I remind you that no one is forced (or paid) to post a TR on here and to be prescriptive about contents will stop a lot of people writing them.

Part of the fun of TRs is that different people concentrate on different things and tell us about different aspects of their trip. That is part of the fun of v-flyer.

What are your prior experiences, as it will help to point out the differences..
i.e. if you've been in VS Y seats, the extra legroom and more so, the extra width, IMHO is a major plus and makes for a substantially more comfortable experience if you are either tall or "larger" or both :D ..
The Purple leathery seats are nice although some say a bit "slidey".
Food appears to be improving..Presentation is much improved in Faux china
If you've done WT+ you will find it better, a more dedicated product rather than an after thought which BA seem to of created..
Overall you should notice a marked difference in the experience, although niggles still remain..
Separate cabin loo's can be a bit of a bun fight with the front of Y pax... :w
Hit & miss for the other points such as priority bag reclaim..either it happens or it doesn't..
The amenity kits are an embarrassing after thought, lethal pens which explode I think are still handed out... :D generally nearly as bad as the UC "eye mask in a bag.." So in relation to Y offerings very much the same,

Will be interesting to see reviews of the new A330's in PE as they roll out...

This post reads a little agressive towards the OP. B)

Someone95 - but tonty is right, I have given you a brief overview but it doesn't take any variables into account or doesn't allow for any comparison.

All the information you need really is contained within the TR, you just need to take the time to find it. I think you'll soon see some really great detailed information, from the seat right to the IFE and on with the meal and crew.

To save time, did you know you can use the Trip Report Index in the toolbox? When I first joined, I hadn't realised this was there straight away and it definitely saves you time. Find the route you want and read away.

Try that - if the info you need is not there, then perhaps try asking some specific questions, what do you really want to know and I can guarantee the information is here!

Hi

Agree with Tonty here, it would be helpful if we had an idea about what else you are looking for. In seperate threads you've asked for views on the best PE seats and on PE food - no problem with that as it helps people target their replies. And you know how to access the trip reviews.

So, tbh, there's not a lot left to give views on.

But if there is something more specific you need to know I'm sure people will do their best to answer.

I think the reasons why TR's are so useful for gauging peoples thoughts on a certain cabin/products is that they have so much more detail and reasoning.

It is easy for me to say PE is rubbish or excellent, but why? What made it so bad/good? Everyone has different expectations and a blanket response, whilst easy to give and accept, doesn't really give a true picture.

Also, as there are various different PE products, even on the same a/c, it is difficult without more specific points you are interested in, to know how to give an appropriate answer.

Thanks,
Neil

Thanks for the pointer Luke

I've been on V-flyer for a while but had not spotted that gem.

Cheers

Thumbs up y) for Tonty, exactly why TRs are there and useful (actually it could be perceived as a little lazy asking people to repost their views in one thread, when many have already taken the time to write up their TR with richer and fuller detail).

I'm quite happy to give my opinion here, even though I did a recent TR on PE.

I was undecided at the end of my TR but have since had time to think about it and have come to the conclusion that price being right I would almost certainly use it again. I didn't feel anywhere near as jetlagged as I have in the past due to be comfortable enough to sleep (apart from all the talking I did with my seat partner who was very interesting?!). I didn't think the food was great, but my folks did the same journey in PE a few weeks after me and they loved it.

The seats were the old style ones and I thought they were comfy, having your own cabin in the bubble makes the whole experience very quiet and also seems quite intimate.
