With T3 opening in June 2012 and all international flights moving over there, has anyone heard anything about VS putting in a Clubhouse ?

There should be plenty of space and with multiple daily flights (on some days for the time being) there should be demand.

Single destination...VS-LGW/MAN
Mainly a leisure route...
Manchester still hasn't got one? (Vrooms are for VH pax only?)
If LAS does end up with one, it will sum up VS's commitment to MAN

Not to turn this into a LAS v MAN debate, but is there room inside the terminal for a clubhouse at MAN ?

I was just over on A'Net and the LAS manager was saying that there will be multiple lounges at T3, this made me wonder about a clubhouse.

Also, SFO has a Clubhouse, so do a couple of others with only one flight a day, sure the majority fly into LHR, but I would place money on MAN going daily pretty quickly to LAS, so the demand should be there for a clubhouse at LAS.

I would agree that a Clubhouse at LAS would be a good move to attract Business Class passengers on VS

However, I suspect the narrow view of the VS management will be that with aircraft only having limited UC capacity, there is only a limited demand that does not justify the investment

As Buns says, even two LGW/MAN configured 747s would only have max 28 pax to use a clubhouse, and I should think that it's not a heavy route for golds. So what could be a multi million dollar investment may not make sense.

That said, I would like VS to expand more out of MAN, if EK can put on three flights a day to DXB I don't see why for example VS couldn't compete ... maybe they've lost that one now, but there are other options and MAN does deserve a clubhouse IMO. It would make a really great differentiator.

Virgin Holidays managed to find room for the v-room that's being built at the mo, am sure VS could have snapped up that same space for a Clubhouse had they been so inclined (and be prepared to pay at least as much as VH are for the space too of course!)

I highly doubt it (sadly). It seems that if there is joined up thinking between VH and VS at the moment the way forward is the V Room. The current V Room space at MAN could easily have been a CH but clearly it was decided that it was to be a V Room. Clearly V Rooms are more "open" to a wider range of passengers.

Would their be enough of a J yield to warrant it? I know SFO has a CH but it is an entirely different type of destination really in terms of yields and class make up.

If anything then a V Room is more likely. But as with all things VS, nothing surprises me these days.

Slinks you cannot compare VS and EK operations at MAN. The reason why EK put three flights a day is because the vast majority of MAN originating paseengers using EK are not going to DXB as their final destination. Not only are they surving a large proporition of the Kangaroo route passengers ex MAN but then there is the huge Pakistani/Indian/Bangladeshi/Sri Lankan etc etc etc communities that will use the EK DXB flights to connect to flights back to their respective mother lands.

If VS were to open up MAN operations they would not have the same kind of demand as EK at all. They would not be operating into a hub as EK would be. Their operations would be a lot more point to point and thus would not carry such demand. Very few airlines in the world can be compared to EK...those that spring to mind with such a hub system (who are trying to emulate EK) are EY, Oman Air (watch the name) and even TK.
