I presume we will start to see the photos coming through on spotter networks. It will have given them such a treat to see a new plane in new livery at an airport that doesn't normally get there!

tommorrow (Wed) around 1100 again on the way to GLA. Andy

How about trying to say something that you might infer? The continual posting of links as some sort of reference to a point of view that is not expressed is confusing to say the least!

By posting this do you allege that VS is short circuiting its captain experience?

Looks like they have 2 new planes but not enough flight crew to fly them, last week I was in the travel agents booking my accomodation for my May trip on the 330 when he asked if I was sure if my flight was still going as VA are sending out flight cancellation notices almost every day - sure enough, got home to find that they had chopped the 330 flight and dumped me on the later 747. Next day VA sent an email and text telling me of the change, called customer services and they changed the booking to fly 2 days later (on the 330), 10 minutes later they rang back saying it was 747 on the original day or cancel. Now flying out on BA.

A very good find that picture! I love the Rolls Royce building in the background and the RR engines on G-VSXY, nice symmetry!

I have a flight out of LGW on Saturday morning so I am hoping to see the new livery, even if I won't see one of the new planes.

Father Ted sketch?

'These cows are small' (holds up small cow toy)

'Those cows are far away' (points to real cows in field)

I'm amazed there are still no cabin photos from VSXY, seeing as she's getting around these days, you would think someone would get the photos out there !

Also I'm quite surprised to here of crew shortages, every time I read pprune I get the sense there are thousands of unemployed pilots looking for jobs, I'm sure there are lots of 330/340 rated pilots out there. :?

Yes! Where are the cabin photos. Surely VS are planning a big launch? I can't imagine SRB not getting in on the act somewhere.

They're probably saving them for the big unveiling. We've all got access to them on our internal forum so surprised someone hasn't leaked them. The cabin looks very smart :)
And she does look small even close up, taxieed past her the other day at LGW - sorry bit give me a nice 744 any day (even better when they've had their refits - eventually lol)

Slinky, a clear statement of a number of viewpoints is found here.

If I copy and paste, I will get my fingers slapped. If I try to extract parts, it may give a false impression of the state of play.

Virgin is not a happy place for some at the moment, the post linked above also gives quite a bit of info. about the A333 UCS issues and helps understand the A333 VS future. I suspect Pete might not want me to attempt to paraphrase it but I believe this situation is something we should be aware of.

It is not my intention to make any allegations - simply to inform.

Sorry I don't understand the term 'about to become brown'

?| ?| ?|

I am starting to think that (far) too often there is an expectation that everyone here is an expert on the ins and outs on what all the initials and phrases mean and it causes confusion rather then enlightenment.

I'm not saying we need to revert to full explanations but where a term is not genenerally know it should be avoided.

Thanks Bill - while there may be some legitimate stuff there, what a shock to read so many comments that take you back to the 70s language of trade unionism.

I am being very careful not to express an opinion or personal view on this matter. The post by HO is quite explicit and gives views supported by many. I agree that some of the following posts include a view from someone with an axe to grind.

I must say though that my memory of 70s trade unionism is very different....
The single post referring back to Scargill days was well and truly jumped upon.

Sorry but the aviation geek threads on these boards are no where near as cryptic/confusing/excluding as some of the more sociable threads with the in jokes etc. If you don't understand something just ask, surely your experience on V-F has taught you that people do not get flamed and on the whole people explain things clearly when asked. Plus there is the very good dotted line function under abbreviations which explains things and if they are industry standard then a quick google always provides the answer.

Back on topic...

Bill the link posted is a most interesting read. It does confirm a number of things and clearly highlights, what some of suspected when the news of W-Y-W and the lease to CI broke, that being things were not quite correct behind the scenes. I completly understand your reluctance to pass comment given your links to the industry. One thing is clear, the 330 introduction is turning into somewhat of a farce.

Will - that is an understatement. One thing I have concluded after reading PPrune for a number of years is that professional pilots are just as hysterical as the rest of the population. That said, the whole A333 saga at VS must be costing them millions and we, the paying passenger, will suffer the effect of that. Now that hurts me. Remember though, some of the comments in PPrune are clearly misaligned, especially the links to the J2000 seat provider and the new planes and seats to be installed on them (the comment about SR and his financial links with that company might be true, it's the currency of the comment I see as being incorrect).
