Check in was smooth with no wait at all. Then onwards for the long trek to the gates negotiating lots of security checks on the way. No queues anywhere though.
Stopped at duty free as surprisingly I hadn't bought anything at all in Dubai on a trip that included 2 visits to the Worlds largest shopping Mall and the Gold Souk
I think it just all overwhelmed me 
So after purchasing one fridge magnet and 2 pens for souvenirs I felt happier 
Mr S is still in shock that I returned with nearly all my cash as I am known for my bargaining skills and shopping stamina 
Sat in Costas by the gate waiting for it to open.
Boarding was chaotic with only one line open for all and no one policing it.
On board I was in 22A again. This time I had my friend as a chaperone so I wouldn't do anything to embarrass myself so she trapped me in by the window and escorted me at all times if I left my seat
We were disinfected at least 3 times before take off so I don't know what they thought was on board
We had a very miserable CC who never made eye contact and seemed very switched off for the whole flight. The others all looked very jolly though.
Daffodil came and introduced herself to me...so nice to meet another v flyer
About 20 mins into the first film v port was switched off as passengers were having problems. It was re booted and then before my film had finished it all crashed again. The FSM was unable to rescue it so we were given 2 films a cartoon and The Social Network both of which I had seen. However Social Network had no sound so that left the cartoon and most of the flight remaining
I asked Mr happy CC what compensation would we get and he said none!Then the lovely Daffodil appeared saying that in UC they had all been handed forms to claim 4000 miles. She asked the FSM who said that eventually we would all be given the form which we were
The FSM worked her socks off for the whole flight and was very visible in all the cabins. She was professional and very sweet. Interestingly she had never heard of v flyer in 14 years of working for VS. So Daffodil and myself educated her in the benefits
Wine gums were offered instead of ice cream or love hearts but of course our CC missed his whole side out and we had to ask a few times. It was the same with drink top ups etc
I can't comment on the meals as I took my own food on board.
We landed early and our cases were going round as we reached the baggage area. So we made a speedy exit.
