Something that looks a bit odd to me. Maybe others will tell me it's a common occurrence, but anyway:

- I look at options to st Lucia, out 27th May, back 3rd June - lowest class of economy for cash is X class.

- I search again using MPM, and it comes up with significantly cheaper fares because now they are N class.

I'm not actually complaining, because clearly it's a decent discount, but I thought that if there were lower Y bucket fares available, they were available to everyone rather than being held back for MPM use. Clearly not.

MPM availability is totally different and seperate to revenue availability, it's just MPM fares book in to the N fare code, so nothing really odd with what you are stating.

There will only be a few MPM fares available and once they are gone they are gone. By their nature they are not available to anyone just FC members who have already flown VS.

I bet that if the flight starts to fills up those MPMs will soon be withdrawn in place full fare paying pax

Evening,

I’m not being pedantic, but must the FC member have flown VS before getting the MPM fares? The only reason I ask is because I’ve asked a few non-VS flying friends to sign up to get the 2,000 miles through online shopping. I was hoping they would be able to book a MPM fare for an upcoming trip?

Many thanks,

Mike

Sorry yes. I forgot about miles earned by shopping via the VS site (or indeed CC earned miles in general) - must having been suffering from brain ache !

Apologies for any confusion.

Yup. My wife, 2 year old daughter and I are getting ready to fly on an MPM fare, which will be our first flight on Virgin. Mostly by converting over hotel rewards points. :) SFO to LHR and back three weeks later...
