Morning All, Mrs Sparrow and I are off to MCO on VS73 next Tuesday arranged with VH. The outward flt is Class Z which is the norm as I understand it, however I see from 'Manage My Flight' that we are Class J on the return VS74. Was wondering why and also is there any benefit? Incidentally we are 8A&K outward and 6A&K return. Any comments?

Interesting and strange that VH will have booked you in to a J class fare code, but you won't receive any extra benefit for it.

If you were booked through VS you would receive a CDC but that isn't a benefit when booked through VH AFAIK.

6A&K are my favourite seats when travelling as a couple in the MAN/LGW UC cabin.

Thanks,
Neil

Thanks for the swift reply Neil. One small benefit I've since noticed is that for the Z booking we each received 150% of standard mile but for the J we received 200%, so a total of 14,784 each plus of course 10 Tier points. Also, when we initially booked (last year) both outward and inward flts were Z again with 150% miles, and at that time 6 of the 14 seats were taken. Then, a couple of weeks ago the remaining 8 seats were booked and that's when the inward flt was changed to a J.

Are you sure the fare code has actually changed? It seems a very strange thing to happen especially in the circumstances you are saying. Quite often J is just used to show you are flying UC, for instance on your boarding card, it will show J/W/Y irrespective of what fare code you are booked in, are you sure that isn't the case here?

Have you an amended eticket that shows booking class as J?

Hi Neill, E Ticket arrived on Monday showing inward as J, which was what made me make the Post in the first place, also additional miles show on 'manage my Flight'

Excellent news for you then.

It be worth a cheeky call to VS to seeif you can get a CDC, worst they could say is no!

Thought about that but decided to quit whilst I was ahead! Also, using the DME complimentary transport from and to MCO. Thank you for your input
