Just had a text from Virgin, informing me that my upcoming VS075 flight is being pushed back by 30 mins to 11am. No other explanation, and the schedules and booking tools stillshow th original time (the new time shows in "my booking". Just wondering whether anyone could shed any light as to why the change is occuring?

Probbaly down to operational reasons in managing the airport at either at MAN or MCO or to give more time to prepare the plane after its inbound flight into MAN.

There seems to be an awful lot of shuffling at the moment, wonder if VS is engaged in some slot swapping?

My VS076 flight into Man from MCO on the 10th April has been given a later arrival time of 8am. Maybe this is why the VS75 has had to be pushed back. I noticed when I was looking for flights that they were showing a departure time of 11am after April 1st.

I wonder what's happening in the airline world (or perhaps just the VS world) as the changes to the SFO times starts from that date and didn't someone mention changes to the PVG times?

The VS75 moves to 11am from the 2nd April permanently when it moves to the A330, this has been in place for quite a while now, so I wonder if VS have to move to their new slot early at MAN?

Our VS76 flight now arrives back at MAN 20mins later than planned, even though we leave MCO at the same time.

My parents just got a text informing them the VS20 in October won't leave SFO until 19:50 with a UK arrival of 14:00, so VS really are playing with the schedules currently.

Yes i have had to reply about change for June. Customer services asked flight opps about new time change, and he said this is the start of the rollout for April services, Not to worry. I would have prefered an ealier flight out/ and back. :D Happy flying. y)

There does appear to be some time changes going on.

Last week I noticed our return flight VS12 from Boston is scheduled to leave 40 mintues earlier.

Yesterday I was checking in 'manage my booking' and found that VS 027 on April 15th LGW to MCO is now leaving at 11.15am instead of 11.35am.

I have heard that VS075/6 flight routes have been altered slightly. This is rumored to be for safety reasons. The A330 only having 2 engines, and hence req'd to fly closer to Iceland/Greenland in case of any engine, problems. I have no idea if this is correct at all. It seems to sound a little absurd to me, but maybe someone could confirm elaborate or offer speculation?

All to do with ETOPS. They have to be within a certain time (2 hours i think) of land.

VS have been certified ETOPS approval to operate the A330 at 180mins from a diversion airfield from the start of the A330 operations. They can therefor take any North Atlantic track to Orlando.

I overheard a crew member on my last MCO flight saying that once the Airbus arrived to do the MAN-MCO run, the allowances the crew would get paid in Orlando would be cut. Something to do with the later arrival time being later than a set time, so Virgin deem that the crew need to be paid less for their stay in Orlando.

This could have been a case of "Galley FM", or could be true - only crew and/or Virgin know. Given the way Virgin experimented with remote stands at MAN to save about 50p/pax the other year (which really annoyed both pax and crew alike) does make you wonder...!
