Flight itself was fine, we nabbed 70AC at check in which was nice. Cabin crew were average (not a patch on our outbound crew) and the food was excellent again.
The main question to arise from this leg was can Las Vegas handle 2 fully laden 747's departing at the same time? The answer, after last nights shambles, is a resounding no.
Turns out the i/b LGW was rotating to go back to MAN and the i/b MAN was going back to LGW. Both arrived within 5 mins of each other at around 14.30.
LGW due to go out at 16.40 was inexplicably delayed until 17.10....you can easily turn round a 747 in 2 hours...no reason was given this delay from the moment we arrived at check in until we disembarked at LGW.
MAN, (VS86) due out at 17.20, was boarded a full 20mins before our flight. Why???? It was then a 3 way bun fight between ourselves, the VS86 and the Condor 767 back to Frankfurt as to who would leave first. We lost.
I have no problem with the delay but no reason was given and the fact they prioritised the VS86 which was due to leave later and appeared to be less than half full is beyond me. We ended pushing back at 17.35.
This was only the 2nd time that both VS flights had left together although the inaugural i/b on April 3rd left at 18.20 I think, not 17.20. This seems to be far more sensible to me, more room for manoeuvre. Rant over!
