Greeted in a friendly manner, boarding cards issued, bags dropped off etc - all very smooth and curteous with just the right amount of friendliness.
Off to security, all the usual officious TSA ordering about, but queue not too long, and we were through in around 10 minutes.
The walk to the gate was quite short, and there we were, with maybe 30 minutes or so to wait before boarding commenced.
The boarding area was very full, which indicated that the flight would be pretty full, and so it turned out - in fact, all four HA flights we took were almost completely full, so good news for Hawaiian there.
On boarding, was greeted by at least 3 very friendly and helpful cabin crew, and got seated very quickly. I noticed that the crew made it there business to talk with everyone, help them store luggage etc, made nice announcements about letting others pass to store luggage etc, altogether a very professional job. I noticed that they qite clearly knew some passengers who were evidently frequent flyers, and tey demonstrated great appreciation for their custom by using names and doing all they could to welcome them on board and assist in getting seated.
This flight was on one of the A330 aircraft, and it was very clean and well presented indeed. The economy cabin was much as you’d expect, no more or less crowded than any other.
Fairly short taxi out, given that this was LAX, and off we went.
There was complementary snacks and drinks, although if you wanted alcohol, they charged you for that, and they had a “premium” snack tray on offer which you could buy. The standard offering was pretzels etc plus a soft roll with a choice of ham/cheese and something else I can’t remember!
The premium offerings were caesar salad and a sort of garden salad I think which you could have if you parted with $12.
Flight was truely uneventful, I found the whole Hawaiian airlines experience highly professional, and the crew were very friendly and helpful.
The food/drink offerings were respectable for economy, and there really isn’t much more to say.
I wanted to give everyone a feel for how I experienced HA economy/coach.
One thing on arival in HNL, was that we needed to exit the terminal, take a bus to a different building for the baggage reclaim - which was a little odd! That was the only very slight peculiarity in the whole trip and isn’t really down to HA at all.
So, there you have it! A very enjoyable flight, as were all my flights with HA.
The HA2 return leg though, where I upgraded to first, was a real joy!
