Unable to find NZ availability

Despite having the enhanced version of EF I seem to be unable to find any reward availability on NZ to LAX for October this year in Business Premier (I believe the booking class would be I)? Is this because there are simply no reward fares for the date searches I'm entering ( there seem to be seats for NZ Gold status upgrades though ?| )?
In desperation I now have some G seats on hold with VS and Premier have contacted NZ with some dates for them to check (which presumeably will come back as a no as the website indicates no availability) but these will take 24 hrs.
There has to be an easier way of booking reward seats on another partner doesn't there??

It is tortuous, isn't it? But I thought I was out of luck too as the ANA tool showed no availability in I. But my first choice dates were confirmed as available. I know others have played the phone and wait game several times though.

Worth persevering with IMHO because it represents great VFM if you can pull it off.

I have pretty much given up trying to book NZ reward seats through VS.

As it is, my miles whoring is now going directly to UA/CO so fingers crossed the Star Alliance part will work when the time comes.

Thanks both- the plan is to head up to Vegas (another Cadbury run ) and then on to Hawaii to celebrate 20 years of being wed to Mr DL .
I will persevere RedVee as I too think it's a good deal - the taxes quoted by VS are mind boggling!!

Yep, the fee's are the reason VS is losing my trans Atlantic business, other airlines have caught up with the VS product on board the aircraft and frankly, why spend $800+ for a reward ticket when I can spend $200.

Well no luck - Premier suggested giving NZ a ring rather than go through the one request a day via VS so that's what I did.
There is nothing at all for Oct/Nov (and having played with EF as well this evening I can't find a single seat on any day on any month this year or next ! ).I know Redvee has had success but was that exceptionally unusual??
Looks like I might be confirming my Gs and paying the outrageous taxes. Grrr....
