So says the mail that just popped into my inbox... it goes on:

"You’ve got the miles, now what will you do with them? We just wanted to let you know about some exciting new ways to spend those precious miles of yours. You’ve lots of rewarding options. Some are closer than you might think."

Erm... ok, I see 'combi miles' which does appear to be a new idea, not exactly groundbreaking but perhaps a decent way of getting a PE return at a Y cash price. But inexplicably not something you can test out via the online booking system.

Other than that, looks like the same old lineup. Am I missing something exciting, perhaps buried in the small print? :?

I thought the exact same thing RC - I linked through my iphone and wondered if it had taken me to the wrong link as there didn't appear to be anything new!

My wife got the email, I didn't.

The "other one", well I got it, and my wife didn't - what do you make of that!

VS IT systems don't appear the best, maybe a fault in their mail server?

And, yet again, I don't really get it, there's nothing new here is there?

I got both. Yes I know I have signed up for emails from VS but 2 in three days is taking the proverbial.

As to the combi fares you have to speak to a VS operator but you can't get a PE return for the price of a Y as on a combi yo can only upgrade ONE leg

I've had a good look and there still seems to be nothing "new" or "exciting" about this email?

Are we completely missing the point or should the link have taken us somewhere else, to a new and improved website with links that work? hmmm.... v(

Ah yes, clearly misread the combi fare terms. Must have been in my haste to assume there was something 'new' or 'exciting' there. I would check that link but on my blackberry I just get directed to VA's mobile site which is about as cutting edge as Nova...

Honestly, I'll lend them a few of the web developers in my team if it means I can actually access something online.

"The CombiFare can only be booked via the Flying Club helpline"

That means being held in a long queque waiting to get to speak to a 'human'. So a simple enquiry will put more money in the VS pot. My 20years of loyalty to VS is rapidly dwindling. I'm already looking for a more competitive & less expensive way of getting across the pond for my next vacation - BA here we come.
