You wouldn't be a member of the paparazzi by any chance? Personally I'd never wish to see any celebrity on board - as you'll see from previous threads on this subject, there is a not insignificant risk that service levels to the rest of us 'ordinary' folk could take a hit as a result of excessive demands from Z listers, or excessive fawning over A listers...

I've seen a few 'celebrities' on my travels, though to me they are just normal people who happen to be in the news and not something I get overly excited about. I do, however, get quite annoyed when the crew lose their usual proffessionalism just because there is someone remotely famous onboard, and equally when someone (usually not so famous) insists on being treated differently from the rest of the paying passengers it irks me even more. </rant>

Some of my stories...

Lucy Benjamin from Eastenders asking me to switch seats with her on my flight to DXB as she wanted to sit in the nose not the B section (I declined)

Chris Rock on a flight to LAX. Was hidden away by the crew and the regular J pax were held back from disembarking until he had got off.

Michael Burke from the BBC on a flight to LAX. Very unassuming, sat in old config 15A or thereabouts.

Will Young on my flight to JNB. He was flying in PE and I was in Upper. Didnt make a fuss from what I saw but the crew asked him for autographs.

Have seen numerous people in the Clubhouse too, including Jordan and Peter but fortunately they were not on our flight. :)

Colin Firth and Russel Brand in the CH,
Robert Lindsay LAX-LHR
Cuba Gooding LHR-LAX
Peter Andre HKG-LHR (ok I know you said celebs),
Russell Davies LHR-LAX
William Fitchner LHR-LAX

only seems to be the LAX route for celebs.

I've only flown from Gatwick once and Nicky Chapman was there on her way to Barbados.

Have also been on a flight with Tico Torres to Miami and he posed for a photo with my daughter. Was once moved from pre-booked seats to accommodate a family of 4 - who turned out to be Courtney Cox, David Arquette, their (then) 2 year old and nanny. David was a very doting daddy and CC had her head in a script much of the time.

Nicky who ??!!
celebs don't go to Gatwick - sorry.

Autographs is a good point. I would never ask because a) I don't want it and b) I think it is intrusive (although I am sure some celebs like to be asked to reaffirm that they are still celebs).

I did see Richard Gere and his wife and son once. They were in Upper on a 346 and wanted to wait until everyone else had disembarked - I think because the young son was still asleep. Unfortunately for him, everyone was disembarked through the forward door, so all the Y and PE pax walked through the UC cabin past them.

I also sat next to Ben Miller (of Johnny English fame) on the way back from LA. I had no idea who he was - he was very pleasant and unassuming - but when we chatted I found out. We were in the exit row of the bubble in PE. I had a good nights sleep and can say that's the only time I have ever slept with a celebrity.

In a reverse celebrity way, when I got off VS4 on Saturday morning, there was that Heathrow celebrity photographer in the walkway back to the terminal. He looks just like the hideous character Mickey from "Come Fly with Me" :D

I have seen a few minor celebs at the airport in orlando & gatwick but not on my flight (to my knowledge) although with a 15 year London hotel career under my belt I have met a fair few celebs at work and have to say all but one were absolutely lovely and very friendly and polite (not going to mention names as a bit unnecessary but the unpleasant one was a so called "supermodel" who had absolutely NO manners)

There are a lot of "celebs" that fly VS. I have met some of the best and some of the worst and some of the "I have no idea who you are" and have many stories to tell. Will I post those stories on here? Never in a million years.

OK, I'll bite.

Ha ha. So true about LGW. Last time I was there (Xmas) it was still a no-go zone. Going from the valet parking to UC departures was more like crossing a mine-field in some war-trodden dictatorship. Why go there if LHR with the clubhouse is an option?

As for autographs don't get me started. I was minding my own business, keeping my head down in my NME in the clubhouse when some young kid came over and prodded me about an autograph.

Worst of all, he didn't want mine, he wanted to know if I was travellng with Kermit and Big Bird. :P
