Found a great deal through Expedia, however does the hotel honour privileges for a Gold member, i.e. exec lounge access, potential upgrade etc.. If you present at check-in?

I thought HH were ones of the 'must book direct with us to get the rewards' brigade?

I've found Hilton to be good at giving you benefits as in your My Way profile when you book though agents like Expedia, etc. Obviously no points though, nor night or stay credits. It is in their T&Cs.

They draw the line at "opaque" channels such as Priceline where the name of the hotel is not revealed until after you've bid.

You may need to phone or email the property to get your HH number added, but Expedia should be able to put this in their notes to the hotel.

I've never had status benefits / points earned at Hilton when booked through a 3rd party. I'm pretty sure there is something in the T&C's about it too.

I do however seem to remember a thread on here a while back and seem to think some people saying they have had benefits when booked through a 3rd party.

I know when we stayed at a Sheraton last year in LA we got benefits of our gold card but no points earned.

Found it:

Stays that are booked via third party websites are not Eligible Stays irrespective of rate paid, for the purpose of earning points, miles or stay credit toward Elite tier status.

Stays booked via "opaque" channels where the brand is unknown at the time of purchase are not Eligible Stays for the purpose of earning points, miles or stay credit toward Elite tier status, or the receipt of Elite tier benefits such as upgraded accommodations / amenities or access to health clubs

First para does not exclude 3rd party bookings from receiving elite benefits, second para (covering opaque) does.

Thanks R3dV, can live without the points as the saving makes up for it, however the free booze in the exec lounge is one not to miss!
Handy to know this for the likes of Expedia et al..
