First trip report.....here goes!

Made sure I was sitting at my desk at work at T-24 ready to do online check in, only to find that I didn't have the boyfriend's passport number to hand. A few rushed phone calls followed and I successfully checked in, and managed to get SEQ 16/17, not bad but not as good as I'd hoped. We kept our seats already allocated of 20H/K.

After tying up the loose ends at work, managed to finally leave Nottingham at 16:30, for the drive down to LHR. We arrived at at the Travelodge Central at about 19:15 (got a little lost at the last minute, but finally got back on track after going round one roundabout a couple of times!), which was baisc but what we needed. I'm glad it only cost us £23 though otherwise I might not have been impressed.

Neither of us slept brilliantly probably the excitement, and we were up early at around 5.15am, we opted for the Heathrow Hoppa bus, and were at Terminal 3 at approx 7am, check in was really quiet. There were a few people at Upper Class check in, and no Virgin staff at the PE check in so we went to the nearest Economy check in agent who was sat doing nothing.

Although check in/bag drop went smooth enough, there were no pleasantries from the member of staff, and what surpirsed us most was we were not asked any of the normal security questions about our baggage. Our baggage didn't appear to be tagged as PE (as it was on the return), as this was our first PE flight we weren't aware that this was not the norm.

Then it was straight through security, very little queue and we were in departures having breakfast by about 7.30am.

We made our way to the gate as soon as it showed on the terminal screens, where at the gate we were both subject to a further random security check.

Our aircraft was "Dancing Queen".

Boarding commenced quite quickly through two doors, and we were the first PE passengers on the plane.

I gratefully accepted the glass of sparkling wine before take off.....a little dry for my liking but I wasn't going to refuse it!

From then on, a completely uneventful flight really, the crew were good, lots of drinks rounds, food was just ok (but then I don't normally eat aeroplane food anyway), entertainment worked fine, and I managed to watch a film, and play a couple of games.

We landed slightly ahead of schedule, through immigration in no time, and despite our baggage not being tagged as priority, it didn't take them too long to appear.

That was us for our 4 nights in NYC....a good trip was had by all!!!

We then moved to Boston, on a Delta Connection flight....that was uneventful.

Return flight report from Bos to LHR to follow.

I hope I haven't bored you all!!!

Thank you for the trip report. Glad everything went well

It doesn't matter that the bags didn't have Premium Economy tags. It is the bar code that sends them into the correct bins
