Check in at Orlando was suprisingly good. Previous experience has found that the USA end check in and lounges do not compare with the normally high UK standards. The Delta lounge cannot compare to the UC lounge at LGW. And the staff were their usual unsmiling selves!!
We boarded on time to be told we have a fast journey home of just 7h 30mins thanks to strong jestream. A slight delay was caused by passenger numbers not adding up but we soon took off and flew over the Kennedy Space Centre before picking up our fast trak home.
The skill of the flight crew never cease to amaze me. We skirted round a severe thunderstorm ove the eastern seaboard, and although we encountered a litle turbulence the Flight crew did their best to avoid the really rough stuff. I am not a good flyer after experiencing 4 hours of severe turbulence on a flight home from Singapore many years ago. And I really appreciate the skills of the crew.
The Cabin Crew were fantastic again. The food was of a very high standard and now has a fun sense to some of the dishes such as the takeaway chicken box! Again we rally enjoyed the whole experience of the flight once we got on board. The crew were so attentive and I observed how much they help other passengers on board. Even with a few 'demanding ones' they kept a smile on their face.
We arrived to a sunny LGW on time.
My faith in Virgin has been restored. I rejoined the Flying Club and will certainly consider Virgin for future long haul flights.
It just shows how a Cabin Crew can make or break your impression of an Airline. Whatever Virgin have done to improve their image over the past 5 years has worked.
Well done and thank you.
