I am looking to book tickets from LHR to SFO and back from LAX travelling in September.
Is there anyway of checking seat plans prior to booking to ensure we get to sit together. I am worried if I book and end up split around the aircraft. Any ideas.

Unfortunately Virgin don't offer the ability to do this. I suppose you could give them a call and they will be able to look at the seat map.

Do remember though, that only 60% of seats are available for pre-booking, and even then it is only a request, your seats may be changed at any time right up until the flight.

Thanks,
Neil

I found that checking the flight on Orbitz.com you can see the seat plan for Virgin but funnily enough not for BA. 8D

Whereas on BA you can see the seat plan on BA.com before you book. :D

Ive always used ExpertFlyer personally, however if your flight (which the SFO is) is a codeshare with Continental, heading over to http://www.continental.com and entering your flight criteria then selecting Non Stop, should (it has when ive looked) bring up the option to see their codeshared Virgin Atlantic flight along with a seat map of their avaliable seats. Im not sure how accurate their information is, but well worth a try.

Hope this helps.

Kevin.
