We were late leaving work (my fault) but the car to T3 was very quick and we were then dropped outside. Instead of heading off to the purple of VS it was off to BA to collect boarding cards and then through "fast track" security to departures. As usual fast track, wasn' that fast!
We headed off to the lounge - First as my travelling companion is BA Gold. A couple of glasses of very nice vintage champagne and some food, some work and then it was time for boarding. As always at T3 it is the bus gates for BA - so annoying! Anyway we were amongst the last to get down there, so the flight was pretty much boarded by the time we got on.
Short taxi and then it was off to Lisbon. After take-off, the purser came around with drinks - champagne of course! Then it was food time - we were offered a choice of FOUR (yes four!) hot meals for dinner on this flight. That is rather unusual. I had a lovely chicken biryani - very tasty and a huge potion. The other three options all sounded very good - my travelling companion had a prawn pasta in a lobster sauce, which looked very good and apparently was very tasty! Another bottle of champagne after the meal helped to get through some more work before landing. The purser was very friendly and visible throughout the flight - not what you normally expect on a short-haul BA flight.
After landing, it was the usual bus gate for BA - no idea why but they seemed to have agreed with Lisbon airport that they will always be parked off stand. The flight was fairly quiet, but luckily they stopped those coming down fairly quickly so that the Club Europe people didn't get too delayed.
All in all a good flight - especially having a range of food options compared to the usual one hot and one cold!
