Hi,

If there is availability on a flight, is it possible to upgrade your seat using miles one-way?

On the Virgin Atlantic flight, I can only find the upgrade amount for a round trip and not for one-way. Is it possible and if so, is it half the miles of a round trip?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can, just half it i.e. 10,000 Y to PE 1 way subject to being in the correct fare code, see below:

You will also have to pay additional fuel surcharge / APD as well as the miles.

I found you can't do this if you booked via an agent rather that direct with VS unless you happened to have ended up in the higher rate for your fare class.

However I did find that if there is availability on the day the upgrade for instance from Economy to Premium at the airport can be from £159, which isn't bad. I managed to do this recently as the miles option wasn't available for a B fare to PE when the B was booked through a travel agent, but was able to pay for the upgrade.
