Hi all,

Been a prominent browser of the forum for a few months now as our Florida trip comes closer.

We are due out on 12th June from GLA to MCO on Airbus A330 and have currently used the manage my booking in VA site, but as our group, 8 adults & 1 child, are on the one booking we are having trouble reserving the seats we want. I know they are only reserved once we have completed the OLCI. We are basically looking for any row in economy say A,C, D,E,F, H,K in a 2 - 3 (of 4)-2 with 2 behind but the website won't let us as we need to book together.

Is there any way round this.

On the way back (26th June 2011) we are on the 744 and have booked 3 - 3 - 3 one behind each other.

Can anyone tell me how full the flights will be and what plane we will be on, obviously the Airbus will be one of 2 but 744 is harder but from reading this forum it is the LGW 744's which are used for the GLA route.

Sorry for the long winded post.

Your flights are still scheduled to be a 330 outbound and 744 inbound.

The LGW 744's are used for this route so it could be VAST/VTOP/VXLG/VLIP/VROY/VROS/VGAL.

Hi - welcome to v-flyer. Here is the load details of your flights.

VS71 12th June W9 S9 K9 Y9 B9 L9 M9 Q9 X9 N9 O0

I did have a quick look at the seat map - only two people booked into PE at the moment though economy is very busy.

VS72 26th June J9 D9 R9 Z9 W9 S9 K9 Y9 B9 L9 M9 Q9 X9 N9 O9

This flight is wide open at the moment in all classes.

Hope that helps - obviously things can change with a couple of weeks to go, so happy to check a few days ahead if you would like.

Thanks

Jon

Thanks Jon for the update very helpful. If you could have a check a few days before the departure it would be appreciated.

One question I do have is if I complete OLCI does that mean I could not possibly upgrade to PE from Y at the airport on the morning of the flight at the bag drop?

Thanks

Completing OLCI doesn't preclude upgrading or switching seats at the airport.

Welcome to V-Flyer

Mr T is right, best to do OLCI as early as possible. But note that a PE upgrade for 8 + 1 at the airport is likely to be v€ry expen$ive :0 - assuming there is availability.

Unless of course you are thinking of doing it just for yourself and leaving the rest of the clan in economy ):

I will do the OLCI as soon as it is available (24 hrs before departure). Any ideas how much we are looking at each way guys for 8 adults and 1 child (age 5).

I may use the selfish option and upgrade the mrs and I. ;)

It all depends on availability. If they have spare PE seats available, it is likely to be £199-£299 per person each way. I have no idea if being 5 years old qualifies you for any discount - I suspect not.

I hope you all have a great trip whatever seats you end up in.

Cheers

9 seats is a lot to try and get upgrades to into a 59 seat cabin on the A330
Virgin Atlantic
