Agree the F-16's were a little over the top!

This is the story from a US perspective in USA Today. - after the story about seat reclining causing fisticuffs.

I can imagine that ay Air Traffic Controller who sees a jet spin round and head back towards DC, with all of its important buildings, would have their hearts in their mouths - given the Sept. 11th Pentagon memories. Hence the USAF were scrambled.
