Hi, I used both my christian & middle name on my online booking, so "1st name" joined both names together! I was trying to comply with the "must match passport" I looked at the FAQ & it said don't use middle names, v( Will I have to pay to get the error amended? Will it matter if the name matches my passport albeit 1 name & surname rather than 2 & surname? As it was my 1st on-line booking I was just so nervous & didn't notice til it showed up on my booking page. :0

Did you book via VS or another travel site?

Should not be an issue. Several booking engines ask for 1st and middle then merge them together when transferring to the airline.

This has happened to me a couple of times and it has not been an issue. The first time I did check with the airline - like you I was worried about the merged 'name' not being correct - but they assured me it was ok and happened all the time. Indeed to access the booking online I had to use the merged name and not just my 1st name.

What is imoportant is that the 'merged' name is spelt correctly and matches the name(s) in your passport.

Thanks to all who replied, I very much appreciate it. :) My booking was via the VS site and I managed to book the car hire (another 1st) ok, so I feel more assured I will actually get on my first Virgin flight. So just on the countdown for my 1st ever Vegas roadtrip :D
PS I stumbled across your very imformative website by chance, but look everyday now to see whats happening.

Hope to report on my 1st trip as well. Thanks again
