Email regarding LGW PE cabin refurb and seat map problems

I'm flying out to MCO on Sun - PE seat map not back up for me yet even though I have friends travelling in economy which shows the PE config. Grrr !

Which flight are you on?

It could be that either the 60% of seats available for pre-selection have already been taken again, or that with the flight being so close, they might not release the seat map until OLCI stage.

VS 027 - I'd say it's unlikely 60% of the seats have already been taken as I was on late last night and there was no seat map then - I suspect you're right about it being too close to OLCI stage annoyingly.

Well, at least all this hassle seems to have turned into a positive for us V-Flyers ):

I've just booked our seats to and from LAS in July. Not a single seat reserved either way so we are in row 76 in the bubble. It also appears that you can now book 81 A/C and H/K downstairs which are the bulkhead extra leg room seats.

Managed to re-select our 'bubble' seats for August but not for Easter 2012. Do you think I will be able to re-select next Easter or will that one be a case of waiting until OLCI opens?

Ours are back up to, got slightly better seats in the bubble, so quite happy, but if it wasn't for the info on here, I wouldn't have known why they disappeared for a while - so thanks everyone

As easter 2012 is in April the following (which is from the original posting at the start of this thread) applies

What does it mean for passenger travelling in Premium Economy (on the LGW based 747) between 01 Apr 2012 - 01 Sep 2012?

Unfortunately, we will be unable to provide advanced seat assignment on these flights between 01 Apr 12 and 01 Sep 12 because we are refurbishing the aircraft to include amongst other things a new layout in Premium Economy. During this period passengers will be able to select seats at Online Check In or at the airport.

Managed to re assign my seats in the bubble for my flights to orlando and back from vegas in september

Yes thanks everyone, tried this morning and they were not available. Just checked now and have got back our original selection although there were lots available. Upstairs in bubble will just wait till olci to see if I can grab the bulkhead ones.We fly mid Sept to Vegas y)

Thanks for the heads up guys. Both flights have had the seat map restored and seats in the bubble have been duly claimed.

Same here, got original seats back and I feel sorry for the ones that will undoubtedly lose their seats that they chose and probably start their holiday off with rather a bad taste in the mouth. Really poor show by Virgin on this one I'm afraid.

Just logged on to check booking and the seats are now showing to allocate to booking

Wasn't just the LGW flights either, MAN VS073/74 have been down for ages too and are back this afternoon

Managed to bag my original seats in the bubble, hopefully they will remain until we fly in July fingers and toes crossed
