The day had arrived to leave New York and head for home.

We checked out of our hotel and headed to Penn Station to catch the train to connect with the JFK Airtrain.

Arrived at T4 at JFK and preceded to head to the Upper Class Check in. Had already used OLCI so just needed to pick up the boarding passes and the invite to the Clubhouse, which were quickly in had. We made our way to the Clubhouse. It was coming up to 3pm and when we presented ourselves at the Clubhouse, the guy commented on how early we were for our 7:30pm flight. I just stated, plently of time to enjoy the facilities.

Entered the clubhouse and found some seats by the window, we had only just sat down and a server appeared asking us if we'd like some drinks. I ordered some champagne, which was soon delivered and gratefully received. We were asked if we wanted something to eat, we decided to wait a bit and order later.

The Clubhouse wasn't busy at first, but did fill up slightly, which I think was due to the VS flight that was leaving before ours and some other airlines that use the lounge. It was not full at any point.

Decided to have a bite to eat and chose the mushroom tart or whatever it was, slight small, but was very enjoyable. Another glass of champagne was ordered and we just relaxed. I'm sure the server was on commission for champagne, because we were kept asking if we wanted a top up, even before our glasses were empty.

We were called to the gate, B30 I think and advised that we could use the fast track, not that it's that fast to be honest, especially when other people were trying to push in front and then the lines just mingled into one anyway. Through security and on our way to the plane. Today we were flying on Tubular Belle.

Priority Boarding was in place and we were soon making our way onboard. Greeted at the door with a smile and directed upstairs to the upper deck. Found our seats, stowed our luggage in the wardrobe. Champagne offered and gratefully received. All set for our 7:30pm departure. Breakfast cards were completed and handed in and as we were on the upper deck this was designated a snooze zone, so no cabin service would be offerred, one of the passengers wasn't aware of this, but the cabin crew said that if the passenger wanted to she could move downstairs and there was space available. Sleep suits for offered and taken.

The Captain welcomed us on board and advised of a flying time of 6 hrs and 25 mins to LHR and 334 passengers on board. He advised that we were to be directed to 22R for take off. The doors were finally closed and we were ready to depart. The captain annouced that ATC had changed the take off point and we pushed back virtualy on time at 7:30pm and started our taxi. We taxied for what seemed like ages and ages. Eventually the Captain informed us that we were head to 22R as originally planned, so we had taxi around virtually the whole of JFK and we had a 10 min delay before take off. We eventually took of at 8:25pm, so alomost an hour late.

Finally we were airborne and the seatbelt signs were turned off. I decided to head down to the bar, which was empty. I ordered some more champagne and chatted to the crew as they went about their duties of serving supper to the passengers. Two of my fellow travelling companions joined me at the bar. It got a bit bumpy and I expected the seatbelt signs to be turned on and we'd have to head back upstairs, but that never happened and we decided to have a bite to eat as there was no service upstairs. We all had the Roast artichoke, cherry tomato, asparagus and caramelised onion tart with tomato tapenade, which was rather nice. We spent best part of almost 3 hours at the bar. Decided to head back upstairs, but this time it was about 4 hours till landing and I chose to watch a movie rather than try and get some sleep, which in hidesight was probably not the best idea). Breakfast was served about 7am. Cup of tea and crossaint with jam.

We landed about 8am, so just slightly later than planned. The cabin crew delivered our suitcases from the wardrobe and we prepared to disembark.

Made it through immigration and made our way to the revivals lounge.

All in all another excellent flight with Virgin with excellent service and a great crew.

All I needed now was to get home, but considering that I had 8 hours until my flight to Guernsey. I arrived home exceptionally tired and by the time I made it to bed, i'd been up for 36 hours straight.

Fantastic trip had by all and loved every minute of it. Virgin again made the experience one to remember. Here's to the next Virgin trip, just got to decide where it'll be.

Thanks for the great TR Kyle :) glad to hear you had a good holiday and flight home.
The clubhouse was quite quiet when I was there the other day, though I was on the 10.

Georginac, I think it was with just a little bit of salad to be honest, nothing substantial from what I can remember.
