So where should we go last week on December and first week of Janurary?

After just getting back from NYC I want to plan another trip...

Going Florida in August/September, so not there again.

Been California quite a bit recently, but if can't find somewhere that clicks, we will return there.

USA is our preference as we feel comfortable there. But we are looking around.

VS routes from LHR preferably, happy to connect on VX too.

Thanks for any suggestions and opinions y)

Consider this yet another advert by me to promote the attractive aspects of South Africa y)
It's aWorld part from your usual US trips and can be a real tonic ....Really warm in December and January ......Do some interweb research ...... you might like the look of it 8D
Cheers

San Diego is nice with VX connections. Perhaps a drive across to beautiful Arizona to see Flagstaff, Sedona and grand canyon, only 6 hours from SD though beautiful Alpine.

Stays fairly mild on the desert floor, cold in the mountains.

Vegas? Its not all about the gambling!

Or if it's warmth perhaps Hawaii or the Caribbean?

I have a friend who has family in South Africa, seen some amazing photos.
I know it's all legal in SA, but how are same sex couples "treated"?

Vegas was going to be my suggestion.

Or the Caribbean

South Africa would be very hot as it's their midsummer - too hot depending on where you went there (even though I am a big fan of South Africa)

Would like to keep Vegas for next year (will be a year older)
Caribbean I will look into, though would be odd to bump into parents on holiday :P

Thank you. :)

I've not seen any bad attitudes or negative reactions or treatment to same sex couples in all the time I've been going to S.A

CPT or Vegas for me too but as HL says CPT will be very very warm (which isn't a bad thing in our freezing and wet winter :D ).
IME the Caribbean will be busy with families with kids on their Christmas holidays during the weeks you're looking at.

Depends what you want - for sun and relaxation you can't go wrong with the Caribbean IMO.

Vegas will be busy and mega expensive in the build up to and over New Year.

Are you looking for somewhere warm or are you not bothered?

Given your preference for the US I'd go to Miami myself and possibly get the keys in there too. Sunshine is not guaranteed but it's unlikely to be freezing although you never know. We've been over that time of year a few times, sometimes the weather has been beautiful others not so good.

I know you said you are already going to Florida, I assumed it was Orlando for some reason so if that's wrong then ignore Miami!

Southern California and the desert areas (as Darren Wheeler says above).
Personaly we would not go back to Japan as did not like the place or food and at the moment the nuclear position dulls any appeal. Plus my wifes gay brother and his partner, who we travelled with, did not feel comfortable so to fit in with you comment about same sex couple I would say not and stick to California

we spent two Christmases in Malaysia -the island of Langkawi to be specific. i couldnt recommend it highly enough.
the island is beautiful, weather 90+, sun every day, a bit to do, lovely beaches, great food (especially if you like Thai/Chinese/Indian and seafood.

it was also incredibly cheap -dinner for two with drinks etc less than a tenner.

for a relaxing do nothing beach holiday i dont think you could beat it

No brainer...

You'll look back on it as a much more memorial trip..

"Memorial"? ?| ?| ?|

Don't you mean "memorable".

Memorial makes it sound like Hamster is about to fall off his wheel and pop his clogs! ): ): ):
