Hi, I flew MCO to LGW yesterday (19th June). We were scheduled to fly on the 15 at 1pm, but Virgin contacted me Sunday morning to say there was a question mark over the flight and would we be able to make it to the airport early for the 27. (we did and I will do a TR when I return) I have checked and it appears the flight did take off, wondering if anyone else has had the same/similar happen or could shed any light? My suspicious mind tells me they may have overbooked?? Or is it genuine and the problem was sorted easily?

I suspect it was an overbooking - in an attempt to save the expense of paying out compensation for "bumping" they have been pro-active.

Did you get offered anything extra offered for being flexible?

I wish people would be more truthful. I would much rather be told that I was being asked if I could move due to a full flight rather than problems on a flight... except I suppose "compensation" or rewards don't enter into the lie. Once at MCO we were told that we would be delayed as our flight was so late arriving. I was near the desk so I pointed out that I had actually seen the flight arrive well to time. The ground staff quietly admitted that actually it was because there was an ongoing dispute about cleaners and BA had managed to bag them first that day !!

I agree. I did ask the question, but I suppose they are hardly going to say, yes we overbooked!! No compensation offered, the only thing they did do was give us the front row, so we had plenty of legroom. It was fortunate we were staying locally and able to get there so quickly. There will be a letter going in on my return, as I really do not think the new PE offering is anywhere near as comfortable as the bubble and I had specifically booked the later flight so we could sit upstairs., as we have enjoyed this many times before.

yeah deffinately sounds like thats VS being clever and not admitting their overbooked. Im going VS15 in september so i been watching it on a flight tracker, that service doesnt seem the most reliable, theres been a few late take off's lately aswell.
