Also I'm sure some VS staff have said on here somewhere (I have been told personally, but it's not always reliable) and VS facebook have said it's no longer a trail, you can just phone up and ask and all UC fares are eligible

Are you talking about the "Limo" (CDC) service? then it's J, D and R fares that qualify.

I was offered it last year part of the 'trial' and was on a 'G'.

It looks like the rules for who is able to use DTDI are different from those about who qualifies for a CDC and we need to bear those in mind.

Also as I'll only know car details when cab shows up - I presume this will still be within the 30 minute window....or should I just jump on the tube....

BTW anyone know how many miles for CDC? I got an online quote for just shy of £100......

Got the e mail invite and used it last Wednesday. However, we used our own car via Meet & Greet car park so we had the registration details etc. All you do is call the reception area at the barrier, they check your details and the impressive "anti-tank" bollards lower into the ground !!

I would guess your name and booking ref would suffice but I suggest you give the UC team a call and ask about how it works with a taxi.

Enjoy ! y)

Didn't notice your user name initially and thought you were "Booing." Nearly sent what would have seemed a strange reply !! :D

Yep, we met at the T3 drop off lanes, I picked up the driver, we drove round to the barrier and up to DTCI. She then drove off with the car. She hadn't done it before so it was a learning experience for her.

A very pleasant experience, apart from the long walk to the Clubhouse which I wasn't really expecting ! :0

Just a nutty username (mine that is), I am afraid. :P

Thanks, I assume that was Purple Parking?

We are flying to MIA tomorrow - did have the DTCI invite - but are using BAA "Official" Valet Parking. I ummed and ahhed about it, but eventually decided not to use DTCI - LOADS of luggage and a toddler too: didn't want the uncertainty of not knowing whether the chauffeur would drop us off or not (until the last minute). I think that I am being a little chicken :|

Was that your first time in UC from LHR? I remember my first time since they out in the private security channel/lift etc.... I had visions that you took the lift up from check-in, through security and the Clubhouse would be RIGHT there - but it wasn't! :0 . I was definitely a little surprised!

Thanks
Boo

Hi Kuningan

Did you just call the normal FC Premier line to arrange this, or is there a special DTCI number? I'm flying in August and as its my wife's first time in UCS, I'd like to go for the full experience. I'm planning to do the Purple Parking drop off as mentioned earlier in the thread.

I hope you are having a great time in Chicago :)

I got the email invite and phoned through the details when car showed up first thing this morning - all went very smoothly - I am flying on a Z fare (so I'm Scottish - sue me!) but am also FC AU don't know if that makes a difference - if they don't email me next time I might get cheeky and call them. Flight superb. Trip report to follow.

The ease with which one's luggage is handled makes it worthwhile - I love the fact that I do not have to touch the bags between my home and the arrival airport - but don't expect a warm welcome from all as you disembark the car. I was deliberately blanked by a member of the Virgin staff once - not meeting me specifically, but just standing around at the doors. On other occasions staff courtesy was a little frosty but on other fine. Customer service not as consistent here as elsewhere within the UC experience. Quite unlike the reception you will receive from just everyone in 5 star hotels, so not quite 5 star up there it seems, but still worth doing CDC for the relaxing journey and arrival. Other people's lack of manners does not tend to affect my overall experience - that's their problem.

I find this most bizzare. You would think that VS would go a long way to make sure that everyone involved in the DTCI process gave a warm welcome specifically to this group customers. They are carefully self selected on the basis of £££££ spending power - nothing else.

Assuming the CI staff rotate (but maybe they don't), I would have thought that these are the same people who give me a cheery welcome downstairs.

Do you think that they all get stopped by a burly security guard before they head upstairs: "Excuse me Miss/Sir, please take this grumpy pill before you go up there!"

:D :D :D

I have never yet used the Drive Through bit of DTCI, but I will do in August. However I have checked in there once about a year ago, when there was a big queue at the UC desks downstairs and the kind lady sent me up to check in. As I recall, I was given a warm welcome.

I have to admit to being a bit puzzled every time I looked at the old title and think for a minute what it was about
