Any idea if the A330's are going to have there engines and tails repainted in the metallic red or would the whole aircraft have to be repainted?

Makes a nice chance to see more than a few VS aircraft without paint peeling off and all dirty!

Seems like its going to be one out one in then. Although i wouldn't of thought the LGW fleet will go in until after the school holidays.

I remember reading that as well, however they must have extended the leases due to the A330 order not picking up the slack due to the UC issue.

Regarding G-VINE its a shame they aren't going to use it but I suppose 3x leisure config AC doesn't make too much sense with all the other changes going on at VS.

I think that with no new routes from LHR the recently returned A346s will cover ... no doubt that means a tightly planned fleet.

If and when new A333s come to LHR, they will have to have UC, so I don't expect any news before early / mid 2012.

:? if your timimgs are just about right, wonder if that means the LGW 747's might be the first in VS's fleet to get the new UCS - :0 that would cause a riot :D

Most likely that LGW will get a few of the LHR aircraft as soon as the refits occur - and the refitted aircraft will go to LHR! ;) They'll all get done one day..... one day!

I can see this being another BA class issue, by the time the new World Traveler is presented on all aircraft, Club World will be due for an update, and then (again) all the classes will not be in sync.. I hope that doesn't happen!

By the time the A380s or 787s join the fleet, they'll have some new IFE and then the rest of the fleet will start.. just a cycle.

Wouldn't be surprised - would be pretty silly IMO to refurb the fleet and not put the new seats in. As Slinky says, the new UCS will be needed by the end of next year for the 333s anyway so they must be nearly ready?

I'd be very surprised if G-VSEA and G-VHOL go into the paint shop... They're due to leave the fleet this year...

G-VSEA now in the paint shop at Air Livery link 8D
Given that G-VHOL is now stored I guess there's a chance G-VSEA is being white tailed rather than painted in the new VS scheme. Looks like they had a head start on engine no. 3 !

Saw about 7 VS planes at T3 LHR yesterday as I was taxiing to T1 after landinf

Seeing old and new side by side I must say I prefer the new livery - much cleaner lines and the 'Virgin' on the tail fun much crisper too.
