Well, after a stressful start to the morning we are now chilling in the clubhouse

All started a bit of a mess with the cab driver coming in a totally different cab, despite them emailing and calling me with the details yesterday so I can book the DTCI.

So, he drops us off at the normal check-in, where the lovely agents had to cancel all the DTCI stuff and re-check us in.

The fast track security was good and we were very quickly on our way to the CH.

Think we got SEQ 2,3,4,5 in the CH today. damn. missed out on both the CH and the OLCI.

Anyway, treatments for all booked, the girls are having their hair done, lad is in for a shave and I am next.

My daughter then has her eye on the hanging chairs

Quick breakfast #1, and now enjoying a "ginger top"

Will try the Virgin Redhead later too I think, possibly after breakfast #2 at 10ish :)

We liked it so much, we are back now in the CH after our plane (Cover Girl) went Tech. 3 hours sat in the plane with nothing bit a few crisps and a run or two of water/orange juice.

Well, time for another mojito and some warm food

We eventually left at 6ish, so a six and half hour delay.

Flight was ok. will do a proper TR in a few days once I get settled. To cap off a crap day, there was no priority unloading of baggage, so we didnt leave LAX till 10pm. Then got stuck in roadworks and didnt finally get to Bakersfield until 1am. Long long long day

The whole non-Tristar DTCI is great, in theory but needs some fine tuning.

1 - Better signs. Tristar knows where it is located. Ture, they send out a map but the taxi driver does not have too much time to review.
2 - Put a sign up that says taxis with VS Passengers with an authorization are allowed.
4 - VS should send proper looking authorizations to passengers.
5 - Educate taxi drivers that this is the Virgin Upper Class DTCI area. According my cabbie, it is a bus area and there is NO way out and he would get a ticket or have his license taken away. He refused to drive up. I got a trolley and walked up pushing the trolley.
6 - Signs that say perhaps "Authorized private vehicles, taxis and other vehicles carrying authorized Virgin UC Passengers are allowed"
7 - Remove the paint on the road leading to the DTCI Wing.

8 - Label the old DTCI area closed. It is confusing for taxis that say "it is closed now, it was there"

I do realize that this program is a test. Deployment during testing with customers should be done properly as well.
