PE Reward Upgrade on Economy MPM?

Sorry, I did try a search but couldn't find anything...

Is it possible to purchase a Miles Plus Money Economy ticket and then use a PE Upgrade Reward?

I not sure if MPM fares count as a reward ticket for the purpose of using these or not. I fear they are probably not but thought I would check...

I think to use a PE Reward Upgrade the Y ticket needs to be in the Y,B or L buckets whereas the MPM is (I think) an 'O'

Do you mean the AmEx PE upgrade voucher? To use the PE upgrade voucher can only be used when you spend miles on an economy reward, they cannot be used on any revenue fare.

If you meant just miles then the answer is also no. An MPM fare can only be upgraded to PE if you do so by buying a PE MPM fare, you cannot use just miles.

Yep, I mean the Amex one.

So it has to be an economy ticket paid for fully with miles - not a miles plus money ticket (even though you are technically spending some miles for a MPM economy ticket...).

Anyway ho-hum. I thought that would be the case!

Yep, has to be fully paid for with miles I am afraid. There doesn't have to be economy miles seats available, just PE ones.
