hi!

quick question for you - how many seats roughly on the upper PE deck are reserved for check in?

i ask because we pre-booked our seats on VS027 months ago, by chance i nipped into "manage my booking" and the seat booking has disappeared. a call to VA and it seems a schedule change has deleted our reservation but every seat on the upper deck bar one is now un-available.

we are flying with a 5 year old and pre-book upstairs because its quieter and more of an experience, the wife, needless to say is not amused!

i dont want to fly PE downstairs because as far as i'm concerned it isnt PE but i'm thinking to pre-book downstairs and see if we can get upstairs by checking in online 24hrs before.

thanks!

I would grab some seats now, even if they are downstairs. Then your best bet is to check your booking a few hours before OLCI opens as sometimes more seats become available.

Apart from the exit row seats, which you wont be able to have because of your child, it will really depend on how many of the VH allocation is taken up, as it is likely the other seats will be taken.

Worst case ask again at the airport, but you should be prepared to sit downstairs.

a gentle reminder that you did not 'prep-book' anything. You made a seat request that is subject to change and unfortunatly in your case it did.

As Neil said check a few hours before OLCI opens in case some have opened up then check again when OLCI does open.

I understand we can't prebook seats and only make a reservation but it is rather frustrating when you can't find any logical reason why you can't end up with the same seats you "requested"' 11 months earlier especially as the seat configuration looks exactly the same as when you booked originally

There was a glitch a short time ago with the VS system and all the PE seat requests in the LGW fleet were lost. In addition, because of the proposed refurbishment of PE in that fleet there will be period when seats cannot be requested. You don't say when you are travelling so you may have been caught up in that

You cannot make a 'reservation' either you can only request a particular seat(s)

I agree it is frustrating but all VS (well any airline) guarentee is to get you from A to B not that you will be sat in a particular numbered seat on that journey.
