Hi,

I have recently booked flights for the above route for next feb. I just wondered if it was likely that we may get a refurbed plane? We travelled to Vegas from LGW in April and the IFE was playing up both ways. I have also amassed some vmiles and wondered if I could use them to upgrade ( I have around 5000 currently). I am travelling at on different dates to the rest of my party due to work commitments and thought upgrades may be more likely due to flying alone? Looks like I'm getting a small plane home as only got twin seats either side of the aisles when choosing seat, is this common?

Thanks

If you mean a refitted 747 then no chance as they are only due to start their refits next April.

Of course, one of the new A330 does operate some flights to MCO, and from what you have said about the seat map, it looks like you will have one of those for your return flight.

Regarding upgrading - do you mean with miles (you don't have enough currently) or with cash (just ask what the price will be). As for a free upgrade (op-up), whilst the chances are usually increased for single travellers, you will still be way down the queue compared to FC Gold members and those booked on full fare tickets.

Rgds,
Neil

Thanks guys. I double checked and it is A330-300. Its nice to know that these planes have had a refurb. As far as my miles/upgrades are concerned it won't allow it anyway as I have N and O fare class which isnt mentioned in the list of allowed classes anyway!

They haven't had a refit - they are brand new a/c that only joined the fleet in April/May this year. They have all the latest seats plus the brand new JAM IFE.

What dates are you travelling? Half term perchance?

VS only releases 60% of seats for pre request and once that has been reached no changes or new requests can be made. If there are only a limited number of seats available now that indicates a busy flight - not a small plane!

Not quite sure what you are saying there Tonty. The OP was talking about the config only being a 2-4-2 rather than what was the norm previously on MCO flights a 3-5-3 config, meaning it is the much smaller A330 and not the 747.
