Some really excellent fares this time around !!

If you click on UC USA on the special offers section, there is a youtube video embedded on the top of the page, is that new?

Edit : in fact there are travel destination videos on all the USA links and the Dubai link, pretty cool !

The T&C are very restrictive though - nothing can be changed once you book.
When I buy a flex ticket I never need to change it and when I buy a non-changable ticket I always get stuck. Why is that ?

So, now the dates I want are £911 in PE Man to MCO, while M+M for the same dates are £998. Very strange way of rewarding the miles you gain over the years. I'm not complaining as £911 is a good price - I just find it weird.

You do find that with M+M fares when sales are on - more often then not the sale fare can be cheaper than the M+M fare. During non sale periods then the M+M can offer a saving, but it is always worth checking.

I dont see sale prices anywhere, jfk upper £1700 is hardly a sale? neither is dubai £1700.
I think im going to wait for the real sale when ever that is to come round, probably dec thru jan which is consistantly the best price.

cheers

Thanks for the heads up guys, just managed to book PE to Orlando late March, using 60,000 airmiles and 2 upgrade vouchers for £636 for both of us. Quite pleased with that. In the bubble on the way out, but unable to choose our seats for the way back - maybe something to do with the re-fits as it is April.

Same deal I booked a couple of weeks ago - it works out a very cheap way to fly PE y)

The lack of seat map because of the refits should only affect flights from the 1st April - so if your return is after then and due to be on a 747, that will be the issue.

£ 1,700 to NYC on VS is a pretty good price - it's normally £ 2,200 ish. Both Delta and Swiss are doing LHR-NYC for that at the moment (Swiss via ZRH) so it's on a par with other airlines.

I think the days of regular £1,500 fares to NYC are long gone (though someone did get for the end of this monnth)

I really don't think £1700 is a good 'sale' fare to NYC. There still seems to be quite regular fares under £1500 (and by quite a bit at times) in various sales over the past year.

Yes flight prices have gone up in the last year, but NYC is a heavily populated route with lots of competition, and I would expect to see much lower fares being offered in future sales.

About 2 years ago, they were doing 1K UC to NY, and I decided against taking them up. If I saw that now, I'd grab it though, but to me, thats a sale price, or 1.2K...

I'm disapointed with the sale as it does not include GLA-MCO.

At the moment its cheaper for me to go with BA via gatwick from GLA

Sealink wrote:Have we checked the old AMSTERDAM leg with these fares?

The prices from AMS aren't usually affected by a VS sale, seem to stay as they are, and from a quick look around it looks like that's the case this time too.

However, there are fares of less than £950 in business from LHR to NYC.. if you fancy Kuwait airways that is haha :0

If you can fill planes with pax paying 'normal' fares then no need to have a sale on that route.

We've just took advantage of the sale fares for MAN/MCO in UC :) Just got of the phone with the premier team and managed to get our Xmas fights upgraded with the sale fare.

I'm pretty sure not all MAN-MCO nor LGW-MCO flights are full yet there is a sale on, my flights this year were not full?
