i'm travelling from LHR to JFK & then from SAN (San Diego) back to LHR, both in Club World. The aircraft are showing as a 744 ex LHR & 777 ex SAN. What are my best seating options? i can access the BA seat chooser but it doesn't give a realistic idea of where the bulkheads are etc. is the upper cabin a better option on the 744? i don't see a upper option on the 777 so i assume its configured for First only upstairs? Also will these be the latest WT cabins or the old ones? Last time i travelled BA was to Denver & it was in the old WT cabin

For seat maps I use www.seatguru.com or www.seatexpert.com as the maps on most airline sites are pants ! plus these sites generally have comments e.g. 'only 1 window'' 'high traffic area'

thanks for the links. i updated my post, i'm actually travelling club world, not world traveller - can't they just use easy to understand nomenclature like first, premium & economy like everyone else?

All the BA seat maps are on their website this is the page for club world

Upstairs on the 747 is seen as desirable by many. But unless you have at least silver status with BA you may find their seat reservation charges steep. IIRC its £60 each way on the lower deck, and more for the upper deck (which until recently could only be reserved in advance by silver and above status passengers).

And you can't see an upstairs for the 777 because it doesn't have one ;)

Have a look at the seat map, I always try to get the window seat at the back of the cabin(s). This has several advantages: firstly, a window. Secondly, to get out to the lavatory, or have a walk around, you do not have to climb over the person sitting in the aisle seat and thirdly, it has a nice private feel. True there are only two seats in each cabin like this, but look at the map, and if you can get then, do, you will not be disappointed.
