This would explain why a lot of the LGW A330 flights have been moved back to the 747 for the next month or so.

Could this also explain the spate of recent complaints about people loosing their 'pre reserved' seats?

Nothing, unless you want to use it.

If this is the reason why, it really does beg the question as to why this was not done during the initial cabin fitting? Surly that would have been easier (and cheaper) to do before the A/C came into service. How much extra must this now be costing VS in terms of the A/C being out of service ?|

Maybe the plan was to but something happened and rather than delay the launch of the A330 (that pax had already booked on) they decided to do it this way? It may not have even been a VS decision ? problem with the cabin interior company or problem with the regulations?

However it does seam to be a little unplanned with short notice switching back to the 747.

VS obviously have the fleet capacity to cope with being an aircraft down, so I can't see it costing VS much at all. If anything I guess it would save them the costs of parking a 744 somewhere...

But on the note of WiFi, fantastic! y) Would this make VS the first transatlantic carrier with WiFi on board? Very impressive either way, and would definitely be a selling point for myself and I can imagine a LOT of business travelers.

Shame the A330 is only doing VS's main leisure route.

I'm wondering if the delay was due to awaiting CAA approval? I'd imagine most of the wiring would already be in place and just requires a hardware install and a software update.

Just hope they block things like VoIP

What with the 744 refit order controversy and now this, Neil has become our very own WikiLeak equivalent! oo)

According to the aircraft database she left ZRH for MAN on the 14th before heading off to MCO and back and out again ...

Also on Wednesday her sister (Beauty Queen) flew from MAN to ZRH.

Thought it seemed odd for something to be mentioned in a magazine before it appeared on the net!
