All in all, an excellent start.
The following morning we went through security upstairs without delay and spent a couple of pleasant hours in the No1 Lounge. Worth the £20 we thought, although it was getting very busy just as we left. Priority boarding worked well at gate 31 and we were soon sitting on board Pretty Woman. The captain announced that a 3rd pilot was required because of some weather difficulties in BGI and ANU and we were delayed for nearly an hour whilst the additional pilot was summoned and made his way onboard.
A very pleasant flight followed. No issues with the entertainment system which worked perfectly for us. The pull out screens in 75A and C seemed to have been replaced with new equipment. The cabin crew were excellent. Several drinks runs were made, always friendly and happy. We were very impressed with their professionalism and made a point of telling the FSM so. The food was good, chilli and rice for me with the pasta option for Mrs C. Hagen-Das in the middle of the flight and a decent sandwich before landing.
This was one of the best PE experiences we have had and we are hoping the return flight will be just as good. The cabin crew made all the difference, proving to us that they are key to the whole operation.
So, hopefully the tropical storm we are experiencing at the moment will pass and we can enjoy our week here in AGU.
