Hi everyone, my first post but not my first Virgin flight.

Flying LGW to HAV in November :D and have read a lot about the 'older' planes from LGW. We are currently booked in PE for both legs and have the opportunity to upgrade on outward journey for c£500 each.

Is it worth it? It would be a one off experience!

Am also interested how I find out which plane we will be on.

Thanks for helping out a newbie! ?|

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer :D

You need to decide whether the £500 offered to you is worth it, but if you take into account:

Access to the Clubhouse
A much bigger seat
Loads of space
The Bar and individual food service

Then if I was offered that price, I would bite thier hands off ):

For that price, many V-Flyers would jump at the opportunity. Really the only difference between planes in the sub-fleets is that the number of UCS's is smaller and the IFE older when comparing Upper Class between LGW and LHR ... otherwise UC is the same.

Also note, there are older LHR planes than most of the LGW 747s ...

Welcome to v-flyer :) .
Given all the jiggery pokery that will be happening with the refits it may not even be a LGW aircraft.
As slinky and Buns have said £500 is a a good price for an upgrade, but you have to decide if £1000 (I say this becase you said we) could be put to better use ,and only you and you alone can make that decision.
Personally I would :D .
Have a great trip regardless.

Welcome to V-flyer also :D

I am also flying to Havana on the VS 063 on the 5th and returning on the 20th in upper like other v-flyers I personally thought it was worth it to upgrade as it is also a long flight but as most have said its your decision. maybe we will be on the same flight if not enjoy.

Thanks everyone - I did think it was a good price! :D

Think I will book it, will let you know how I get on.

Jfenney - I am flying out the day after you but will be on the same flight coming back. However I will be in PE on that flight!

Thanks again everyone

If you have a look in the 'schedule' in the 'toolbox' you might be able to work out a pattern of which named plane flies on which date but this will only be a guide.
