This was a trip for a work conference and we had an additional day of "relaxing" in Kos. Would thoroughly recommend stopping at the Doubletree Kos, particularly if you get a shared pool room!

Anyway back to the flight to Athens. Getting to Kos, there are some direct flights (Easy Jet/Ryanair/Package) or you go via Athens. We opted for the indirect route via Athens.

Arrived at LHR with plenty off time, despite traffic and dropped off bags. The check-in agent was more interested in talking to a friend rather than serving me and was very uninterested! Security was quick and off to Galleries South. Despite it being only around 19:00, the food seemed to be being cleared away. The main issue is that if you fly regularly on BA, it is the same food all the time and no option as in the Club House for a change.

Flight came up, so we headed to the gate. Not boarding, but as seems the normal now, there was a separate boarding lane for fast track. Boarding was late due to the late arrival of the inbound flight. Once on board, I realised that the plane we were travelling on was one of the "domestic only" planes meaning that it had fixed arm-rests, so the seat width in Club was the same as in Eurotraveller (I believe that this is not supposed to happen and so needs a letter to BA). Anyway, the flight was pretty full. Left gate a little late and then taxi down to takeoff.

This is an "enhanced service" Club Europe flight. This means that after take-off, they do a hot towels service, then drinks service and this is served with an appertiser plate which was accompanied by a menu! We had some champagne and the appertisers were very tasty. Menu option this evening was chicken biryani with raita dressing or prawn with lobster sauce on pasta. The main meal is the same as a normal Club Europe flight. However, you get a proper dessert (honeycomb and almond praline) and cheese. Meal very tasty and the service was excellent and very friendly.

Throughout the flight, the crew were in and around the cabin, offering drinks etc to people. Despite arriving at 02:35 in the morning, most people were awake during the flight.

Arrival was uneventful with an airbridge to depart and then off to collect bags and hang around waiting for our flight to Kos.

Overall a very good flight with a very good BA crew. I liked the enhanced service, and it was nice getting drinks and an appertiser before the meal. (The other bonus was that this is a 60 executive tier point flight each way, so good for level bonuses).
