British Midland International
BD919 Service
London Heathrow (LHR) to Queen Alia International Airport (AMM)
Estimated Take-off: 09:30pm (local time)
Actual Take-off: 09:34:pm (local time)

After a long 14 hour layover from our previous flight, it was time to head into our final destination, Amman's Queen Alia Int. Airport. While the airport itself wasn't the best, I was there for family.

We checked in with a very quite but polite young lady, who was actually wearing the South African uniform but told me she could check us in. We were all ready to go in a few minutes and had everything set (including our bulkhead seats)!

We still had an hour, but decided to head to the gate anyways, which was smart as it took us about 35 minutes to get there! After two flights of stairs, two lifts, at least a km of walking we were finally at the gate. We were the only people here, as the area seemed deserted. I used the loo and we took a seat on some rather comfortable seats. The gate attendant came out, took a look at the about 15 passengers scattered and announced, "Now boarding bmi flight 919 to Amman." We got up and were first to get through, he noted, "Is this everyone..?" I said, "I guess so!"

We boarded to a beautiful cabin, I wasn't expecting PTV IFE because Seat-guru said there was none, but I was NOT complaining!

I'll now cut to the photos to explain the remainder.

Could this be our metal? No!

What was this BA craft doing at T1?

Image
When there was no bmi jet at the gate yet, I thought we were getting this Lufthansa jet!

Image
What a perfect sunset!

Image
Here we go!

Image
Fiery red engine.

Image
Bulkhead PTV, while my remote was stuck! :(

Big Ole' BA

Image
What's with the blank winglet?

Image
Just.. Magnificent! (If only it was a bmi craft!)

Image
Engine making a really loud screech as it's revved to max.

Image
Not long after, drink and snack service began. My usual, Tomato Juice.

Image
Once I realized my remote was indefinitely jammed, the purser told us that we can move were ever we chose as there were about 25 people on a 160-seater. I chose this row. :)

Blurry meal photo

Options were lamb or chicken curry. I took the chicken.

Image
This right here, is the absolute best bread I have ever had in my life. I loved it with B|MED and I love it on bmi!

Image
Barton&White was quite blegh.

Image
Rice was horrendous, chicken was okay.

Image
Hot tea, double sugar.

Image
Potatoes in some white sauce cream, my mom loved them, so I gave them to her.

"Lemon Curd Moose Pot"

-56*C brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Magnificent bmi cabin!

On the ground, my best attempt at a QAIA update photo.

I would now like to note that Virgin forgot my bag at ORD and we had luckily brought some clothes in our carry-on's.

Yes, thankfully we got our luggage back at 2:00am the next day. So it didn't take too long. I'm not sure how this always works, but when they got back, they each had a few funny tags the long white tag stated the bags were "ORD-LHR-CDG-IST-AMM" and contained tags for BA, Iberia and Royal Jordanian. I was stunned. Anyone have any idea how this stuff works? :D
