Mrs Buns & I had taken the bold decsion to go for re-qualification this year (most probably our last

So left work on the Friday lunchtime, got back home picked up the car and started the trek round the M25 - for anyone who is familiar with this highway, the combination of being a Friday afternoon, wanting to get to the Clubhouse as soon as possible and the weather being hot, this is a recipie for taking twice the normal time, which of course happened. No worries, parked in the short term car park at T3 (advance booking secured £50 for the weekend) and down into the Virgin Upper Class Check In in no time. Had grabbed SEQ 5 & 6 the night before (OK, I'm a lightweight) but used the UC Check In as this isa lot easier than using the blessed machines and then queing for the drop off. As the ticket was a miles upgrade, I was anxious to get the FF Number on there as this would get me through the magic door

I should point out, that Mrs Buns was still at work at this time and would join me later - I having safely checked in her bag as part of my 2 piece allocation. Entry time to the Clubhouse was 4pm and made my way directly to the Spa and asked what was available and was offered a hair cut immediately

Following this, we looked up to the new Grey Goose Lounge and saw it was empty, save the lonely Bartender. I will not recount our experience there in detail as it is covered in the Grey Goose thread, suffice to say that if you are in the Clubhouse for an evening flight, it is a great distraction for a short time (any longer and you will not get down the stairs, let alone on the aircraft

Personally, I found 22A a good seat, nobody behind and I did not find the toilet nearby "bothersome"

Arrival in EWR was absoutely painless. An empty Immigration Hall and bags out very quickly indeed. So much so that after walking outside the Terminal and across the Car Parking Lot, we were in our hotel 30 minutes after landing.
All in all, a serious contender for future NYC jaunts as I certainly was able to shift my body clock much more easily and the next day we were back in the airport and on the train to NYC for the princely sum of $25 return for a day of shopping and dining
