No, not things that go round you shoulders on a cold October evening, but I was on VS19 today and apart from taking 11:40 hours :0 to get here, they were serving new style "Monty's hot, posh wraps". These are much better than the old plastic coated ones they used to serve on the West coast routes. They are served in handy cardboard boxes and are both much better presented and easier to eat. Mine was BBQ chicken and they also do a mushroom one.

The new wrap in Y

Talking to one of the FAs she also said they are changing a few other things on the service including delivering ice-creams cinema style from a box on a strap round their necks. Also the red shoes will be worn on flights soon. Apparently feedback from the public was that they like the adverts, but were disappointed to not see the real thing on board. Reality catching up with marketing? :?

The long flight time was caused by jet stream activity which forced a really far northerly routing via the 73rd parallel (where-ever that is) and fierce headwinds.

It could be worse (it is), my Virgin America flight could also be delayed by 2 hours meaning arrival into San Diego at 00:25 or later. Right now I'm wondering if I should have chosen BA 273 and gone direct. I'm a slave to maintaining my VS AU status :(

Greetings from the Cat Cora bar at T2 SFO :)

If this is the first display of the much talked about re-vamp of on board catering, then this worth waiting for

(Not your delay though - the Atlantic is seeing the tail end of a few of this season's Huricanes)

It is - they talked about all sorts of changes to uniform and food. They were really quite excited! They said the crew are going through training now or will be very soon.

I know that training is happening this week for Senior CC ... and yes they are excited ... let's hope that translates into something good.

There are lots of changes coming to the economy services and the good news is there is not much longer till it all goes live :) All the crew are very excited to see the changes and hopefully our passengers will enjoy them too!

this certainly looks better than the plastic pasty we had in its paper wrapper in PE on VS23 last week.

I too noticed that the CC wear the red shoes before/after a flight and not during

Stop teasing!!!

I presume there are changes across all cabins....I'm flying PE at end Oct, then econ/PE late Dec (and it cost nearly as much as UC - but then, that's Barbados in Dec for you)......so maybe I'll experience some of these "changes" first hand?

I geninely hope that this makes a substantial diference to the onboard experience, it was starting to look a little care-worne and the "V difference" was no longer very evident...
