Clubhouse once again a great experience, though i do have to be honest some of the sofas are a little the worse for wear, 1 hour delay made more pleasant by being resident in the clubhouse. Had the clubhouse burger and we sampled 3 or 4 of the cocktails, though their name escapes me.
Priority Boarding was in operation and very efficient, greeted by name on arrival at seat, am only a red member and was on a G fare.
Flight was very long, and felt very dry, ended up with a cold for the start of the holiday. 2a and 3a seats booked by myself and the missus, just started to get comfortable and the purser came up and asked if we'd mind swapping seats, i asked why thinking hey maybe there's some medical reason etc, no the lady in 1b had not booked her seats, and didn't like the ones she'd been allocated, told him no and sat back and enjoyed the view, with the occasion evil eye from said woman every now and again. I have to admit once again to being disappointed with the menu, ended up with the lite bite burgers, and not a lot else.
The suite was ok, again looking fairly tired, the one thing that really irks me though is this business of turning off the lights 2 hours into the flight, while i am aware people like to sleep on this flight, i am sure by the same yardstick people would like to stay awake, to read / watch films etc. It strikes me as strange that there is no snooze zone on this flight.
Kindle and IPad amused me for the entire flight, for some reason i really couldnt manage to sleep
LAX what a farce, with the obvious delay to the flight, we reached immigration late, behind an air france and Air New Zealand flight, getting from door to the agent took just over an hour and half, thinking yay almost there, we were then hit with the luggage collection / customs queueing farce, there were literally 6 queues going up and down the baggage hall to get out. Two customs agents waiting to take the empty forms. In total 2 and a half hours to get into the US.
Very tired, took the shuttle to pick up our hire car, by the way Jeep Liberty is an awful choice, which we lived with for 3 weeks.
