When booking this holiday trip via Virgin Atlantic I decided against the expense of upgrading the 4 of us to PE at £300 each one way. Having checked in on line the day before our flight we had a very nice evening at the Gatwick Hilton. On arriving at the baggage drop we were asked if we were intrested in upgrading to PE at £200 per person, being in holiday mood I said we were & the Virgin staff member went off to make arrangements only to return to tell us that there were only two PE seats remaining so we resigned ourselves to economy. After a good breakfast & a few glasses of bubbly in the clubhouse we were among the last passengers to arrive at the boarding gate & were delighted to find that all four of us had recieved operational upgrades to PE. We all found the flight fine, food ok & crew good.
Flight upgrades were presumably due to my gold card status, this is the third time that I have been in parties of 4 that have been upgraded from economy to PE on holiday flight.
The plane was English Rose
Thank god for my gold card.
