Good idea tonty. She ain't too hot with a keyboard yet, but I could get her to write her own TR longhand and transpose it for V-Flyer. Hmm. Watch this space...

Actually I can imagine Tizer reclined on a chaise dictating her opus with a bowl of M&Ms on hand for sustinence

Utterly brilliant - as always y) y)

Your take on the challenges that are thrown your way as you make your way to your final destination are a pure joy to read and I thank you for transforming my week :D

God forbid the time when you have a hastle free journey - as what will us V-Flyers have to savour as a result??

(I can't begin to tell everyone, how much it cost me to put Tarquin et al on the same flight so we all got a good read ): ): )

Thanks

So it was you buggers who lumbered us with Tarquin?!? Well, thanks a bundle people. Mind you, with our without him and his cronies, I doubt the Family mdvipond could ever manage a 'hassle free journey'...

I've added some pics to the TR - only off the iPhone, so apologies for the quality.

Now - chop, chop - time to work on the homebound leg.

I see Tizer has Beary's cousin as a travelling companion.

She is indeed a young lady of taste :D :D

Growing up too fast! Wish there were a way to slow the process down...

Tonty, yes, that would be Captain Teddy. She got him for taking her medicine on the flight out to MIA when she had a temperature of 103 and was scaring the crap out of the crew.

It's almost all she's known for 6 years. Going to come as a hell of a shock when she has to start paying for her own flights...

Really fun read - puts my TRs to shame!

Being someone else with a child that is well used to travelling, and is 99% well behaved on aircraft, restaurants etc, I empahtise with your views of parents that appear to have little interest in the impact their offspring are having on the rest of the world.

I witness this type of clueless parenting frequently, and it makes me mad - no other word for it.

Really looking forward to your return TR (and to find out whether Buns' plan to get Tarquin onboard worked)...

You've also really brought home to me that my own trip to Barbados is just over 4 weeks away!!!

Some forward planning me thinks; there is a need for a mdvipond flight ensconst with mr pink face, graig, and Tarquinius...

Yes, she is Mandy, and we consider ourselves most fortunate as it means we can travel where we like (finances permitting) confident that she'll behave appropriately. Well, most of the time anyway.

Ah, you are lucky. Both our boys have 'difficulties' of various sorts and it was very hard work when we flew in April to Lax and back - although they didn't run in the aisles, it was very, very hard work to make sure they didn't! We had a very understanding crew on the way out, way back was a bit more of an issue... (particularly on the shorter flight!)

We're takig a rest from long haul this next year and probably heading to Center Parcs instead.

Me and Graig, sat at the bar, being served copious amounts of Chardonnay by Very Very Smiley Blonde? Pink Face acting as childminder to Tarquin and the other brats? You know, it might just work...

Mandy - if you're looking for a 'staycation' that lets the kids run off excess energy, may I suggest you have a look at this little report I put together on a trip we did earlier this year. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Thank you again Sir for the epic TR and pics. y)

I know what Mrs DA would have said to Tarquin and his chums and I believe it would be on the same lines as Mrs M.

Like you, I don't believe that the responsibility of your children should fall to the CC when at 35,000.
Anyway miniDA has a great ice-breaker to fellow passengers, as soon as he sits, he starts reading the safety guide. He then proceeds to anyone sat next to him where the nearest exits are.

Fantastic TR. So good I have just read it a second time and still made me laugh out loud :D :D :D
Totally with you on right place / right time behaviour of children. If I had even thought of behaving like that as a child in "adult space", I would have had a thick ear pretty quickly v( v(
Can't wait to read the return TR to find out if Tarquin and his crew star in the sequel :0
