Just logged into my BAEC account for the first time since the launch of Avios. Have found in the Manage My Account section the option to 'combine my Avios'. If like me, you had a few Airmiles languishing in an account being unused, you can transfer them through to BAEC.

Just transferred what used to be 83 Airmiles (now 830 Avios) to provide a little boost to my BAEC balance. Only gets me a tiny bit closer to my target balance but it's nice having it consolidated.

I have a question which I have no doubt a learned guru will be able to answer oo)

From the reply above, can I ask a question that follows on as I've not had the time recently to trawl thru the T&C's etc. If one can move Airmiles to BAEC, then can one move BAEC miles to Avios, previously Airmiles.

If this is possible, is there any advantage on transferring from Airmiles to BAEC or would it be advantageous to transfer the other way, BAEC to Avios?

Thank you in advance & sorry if I'm asking a question that's pigging obvious to all other V-Flyers.

Yes when you go through the process, you can transfer from BAEC to Avios (Airmiles) and even to/from Iberia's scheme. And as many times as you like and without charge.

As to whether it's advantageous - depends what you want to spend your miles on I guess.

And, forgive me if this is well known it wasn't to me, the BA version of MPM is much more interesting than VS's, for example a one way Club ticket to New York from Heathrow is either:

40,000 Avios / no fee / plus fuel and tax
36000 Avios / £65.00 / plus fuel and tax
30000 / £160.00 / plus fuel and tax
24000 / £260.00 / plus fuel and tax
20000 / £320.00 / plus fuel and tax

And 40k Avios for LCY-JFK is a great way to spend them in my opinion. :D

I second that too, 20k points pp to upgrade to east coast and the middle east has got to be the best value ever, something vs can't get close to in value terms.
