The return trip home was a much quieter affair, and again I'd managed to secure SEQ1 on check in. As I was returning home with my parents, I asked the check in agent if there was any chance of moving next to them, which she was gladly able to do, despite us having different surnames and booking numbers, so I ended up in the aisle seat across from them in 35H&K.

Security wasn't too bad, took about 20mins in total, I still wish they'd stop the whole removal of shoes at security in the USA, at least they are not asking kids to do it now, it would speed things up no end. Over to the terminal and a quick trip into duty free - although the prices really aren't that much better now on most things and down to gate 82. Took advantage of the free wi-fi that MCO kindly gives you y), and waited for boarding of G-VSXY to start - priority boarding in place and was being managed, almost too effectively as they seemed to be making the calls more than once for each section, each time with more people getting up. We were one of the last groups to board, and the helpful gate agent from earlier even remembered what seat I was in as I approached her. :)

The flight departed a few minutes early and we headed off up the East coast of the USA. IFE was great again, finishing off the 2nd half of Bridesmaids from the outward trip - so nice to be able to fast forward it to the point I'd stopped watching before. Dinner was fine - apart from dessert not being the much anticipated amaretto trifle/crumble, which had been substituted for some sort of banana custard (yuk)! n( I even managed to try a hot chocolate too, which was quite nice.

I watched another couple of films during the flight, and only dozed off briefly after breakfast - wasn't particularly hungry but ate the croissant, although some butter/spread to accompany it would have been nice, but it was a vast improvement on the horrible Jimmy Dean style sandwich that used to be supplied.

Into a gloomy/sleety Manchester before 7am, and quickly disembarked for the long trek to passport control. All geared up to use the e-gates, only to find they didn't open until 7am, never mind. Through quickly there and then down to the baggage carousel - which actually had bags on it for a change! Surprisingly, it appeared that they may have got the priority bags off first too, but as we were in economy I knew we'd have to wait a bit longer. 2 bags were quickly through though and only mine was missing, but that arrived about 15mins later, so then off to get the bus back to the car park and head home, although not across the normal routes over the Pennines, due to several inches of snow!

Another trip over but I don't have long to wait now before heading back with hubby this time, for some proper R&R later in Jan.

Cheers :)

Thanks for the TR y) y)

which had been substituted for some sort of banana custard

I dunno, that sounds quite appealing to me - very remininscent of the desserts offered in the Ponderosa Resturants on International Drive y) y)

All the same, VS do appear to be making the effort - perhaps the threat of compettion is making them raise their game :w :w
